About the Ranch

About Us:

We are a small 6.5 acre ranch and miniature railroad in Buffalo Mills, Pennsylvania just outside the historic town of Hyndman. Located right on Route 96, our farm is conveniently situated 25 minutes from either downtown Bedford, Pennsylvania or Cumberland, Maryland. We offer special event/public open house days, private parties, events and tours as well as educational tours for schools, nonprofits and other community organizations.

Our Animals

Here at the ranch our main focus is on our llamas and alpacas, but we also have Jacob, Babydoll & Hair Sheep, Pygmy & Toggenburger Goats as well as a variety of chickens & ducks. Most of the animals on the ranch are available for public interactions during our open house days/special public events and small groups of them are available for private parties. In addition, the animals often travel off-site for special community events and are for hire pending scheduling, distance from the farm and availability.

For more information on scheduling a farm tour, reserving a private party/event or hiring our animals for an off-site event, call us at +1 (814) 979-2922 or click on the "Contact Us" link below.

Our Live Steam Railroad

We have a dual gauge 7 1/2 inch & 10 1/4 inch gauge miniature ride-on railroad that is currently under construction at the farm. The railroad is opening in phases, with our phase one loop already complete and fully operational with construction on the expansions/other phases underway. The railroad operates a fleet of three authentic coal fired miniature steam locomotives with a fourth one on static display in our on-site ranch shop awaiting her turn for a complete restoration to operational status. Our trains operate on select public open house days during our summer season from May through October as well as during our Christmas with the Alpacas & North Pole Express event taking place on the first weekend in December.
